Object lost when dragging from PowerPoint to Word due to empty box.
Cause:
Dragging an object leaves an empty box.
Solution:
To preserve the object, use the 'Copy' and 'Paste' commands to copy an object from PowerPoint to Word, INSTEAD OF dragging and dropping.
1) In PowerPoint, select the object to be copied. (Handles appear around the object.)
2) Select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Copy'. (The selected object is copied to the Clipboard.)
3) In Word, place the insertion point at the desired location.
4) Select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Paste'. (The object is pasted into the Word document at the insertion point.)
